MARLAENA MOORE I MISS YOU

‘I Miss You’ is the powerful opening track from Marleana Moore’s upcoming album and it’s one that typifies the Canadian’s melodic grunge-rock style. The first verse of this track holds you in keen anticipation; with the repetitive bass and sparse electric guitar, it’s the unique quality of Moore’s toned voice which pulls you in further. Where this verse takes us is into a world of ferocious emotions with Moore portraying a jaded rock star character struggling to maintain a relationship while on the road. While this isn’t an experience we’ll all have, it’s but one way to capture the burning sense of longing that we also hear in those frenzied guitars and punching rhythms. Moore further brings this concept to life in her co-choreographed music video, which is steeped in violent red and charcoal black. Speaking about the creation of the visual aspect, the artist shares: As long as the idea of having my own music video has been a thing, all I’ve wanted to do is- dance. I am obsessed with MGM musicals, Judy Garland, classic Hollywood in general. I wanted to do my own musical number to capture the all consuming yearning of missing someone so desperately that it completely takes hold of you.” The video was directed by Dylan Rhys Howard and choreographed by Niuboi. Look out for Marlaena Moore’s Pay Attention, Be Amazed! LP out one March 27th.- Hannah Thacker
